It's annoying when you are driving and have to reach over to turn down your stereo volume because you can't hear an incoming CB message. Then you have to reach over again to turn the stereo back up after the message is completed. How frustrating! Even more so if you are driving in the dark or it's raining.
Sometimes you really want to listen to some good music with the volume turned up as you drive at higher freeway speeds, but you might miss an incoming message because you can't hear it.
And, most important, you want to be safe.
The CBiNTERCEPT Car Audio Interrupt automatically mutes the car stereo (turns the radio off) whenever squelch is broken from an incoming message. When the message is completed, after a five-second delay, CBiNTERCEPT automatically allows the stereo to resume its normal volume. This is so much safer than fumbling around to turn your radio down, especially in the dark.
The CBiNTERCEPT has two outputs: negative (white/black wire) and positive (blue wire). Car radios that have a mute wire with either or a negative or positive trigger can be connected directly to the appropriate negative or positive output of the CBiNTERCEPT.
Car radios that have this mute wire are normally aftermarket car radios, usually Kenwood, Alpine, etc. Check your vehicle's documentation to see if you have this mute wire feature. For vehicles or factory radios without a mute wire, use the Gemini Deluxe.
