IMPORTANT NOTE:

Most aftermarket radios (Alpine, Kenwood, etc.) already come with a mute lead that ties to the mute lead of the Audio Interrupt to activate the auto radio shut off.

However, only 20-30% of factory radios have a mute lead, which is often referred to as a telephone activator lead. These all can simply use the Audio Interrupt.

In order for you to make a determination if your car has the lead or not, you will have to look at your owner's manual or ask the dealer service department.

The remaining 70% of factory car radios must use the Audio Interrupt Deluxe because they don't have a mute lead.

You will need a muting module and vehicle-specific speaker harness. This plays the scanner audio through the left front speaker because the scanner is mono.

You need to be aware that the newer car factory radios may have a security code,

The speaker harness sometimes contains the main power lead as well. Disconnecting it from the back of the radio means a loss of power so the radio locks up. You need to have the code to reset the radio in advance or obtain it from the car dealer before installation to be able to reset it. The code is often in the owner's manual of the vehicle with instructions to reset it.

A hands-free device that senses an incoming message from your Scanner, CB, GPS or Two-Way Radio and automatically mutes your car stereo.

It's annoying when you are driving and have to reach over to turn down your stereo volume because you can't hear an incoming CB message. Then you have to reach over again to turn the stereo back up after the message is completed. How frustrating! Even more so if you are driving in the dark or it's raining.

Sometimes you really want to listen to some good music with the volume turned up as you drive at higher freeway speeds, but you might miss an incoming message because you can't hear it.

And, most important, you want to be safe. The AUDIO INTERRUPT handles these problems.

CBiNTERCEPT Car Audio Interrupt System

The AUDIO INTERRUPT is a voice activated car stereo muting device that allows seamless interaction between a car stereo and a CB, scanner or other radio-receiving device equipped with a mono 1/8” speaker output jack such as GPS, FRS,GMRS, ham radio or radar detector.

Placement of the AUDIO INTERRUPT is between the radio-receiving device (CB) and a remote speaker. It may be mounted under or behind the dash. When voice is present (volume set at a pleasant listening level) on the scanner, etc., the stereo will automatically mute. It remains muted for 5 seconds after the last voice message is received, then returns your car stereo to normal play.

AUDIO INTERRUPT may be mounted under or behind the dash using double sided tape (furnished).
